The Christmas door slams

exhaustedI’m exhausted.

Blame it on MS, age, or simply the craziness of Christmas, but for whatever reason, I’m wasted and have no energy or time for a complete post. Instead, I’m making this brief observation on the season.

How long does it take to build up to Christmas? Months for most of us. If you’re inside the “Christmas Industry”, years. In August, we saw the first trickles. By mid-October, those trickles became a torrent. November and December brought a tsunami.

Long before Christmas arrives, most of us are sick of Christmas.

How can that be?

Yes, the ramp-up is crazy long, but when it’s over, it’s over. We don’t ramp back down from Christmas so much as drop off a cliff. The door to Christmas almost instantaneously slams shut with a resounding thud, as if it closed on our heads.

How can that be?

I totally agree. The drop-off is out of control.

Now tell me what's on your mind...
