The Faces of Haiti – five years later

Haiti.

Five years ago today.

Earthquake + grinding poverty = total devastation.

In honor of a courageous and resilient people whose suffering seems as unending as it is inequitable, I share a few photos of the faces of the country, taken by my daughter and me over the years.

People.

Who deserve better.

    Beautiful photographs.

It’s a beautiful land and people, both sadly oppressed. For your reference, I took the first four and last two; Leah took the four sandwiched in the middle during a trip soon after the earthquake. There are stories behind most of them, too. I’d love to go back, but photos are all I have for now.

Now tell me what's on your mind...
