Blowin’ in the Wind

…how many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky?
Yes, and how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
Yes, and how many deaths will it take ’till he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind
The answer is blowin’ in the wind.

In memory of…

San Bernadino

Newtown, CT

Aurora, CO

…and countless others.

How many years will it take till we realize the obvious, that more guns bring more violence? How long before the truth of Jesus’s words, “Those who live by the sword will die by the sword,” is understood, believed, and obeyed? How long before we value human life above the gun industry’s profits?

Some future civilization (if Jesus tarries and we don’t kill ourselves first) will look back and ask what kind of sick society was this? In much the same way we are amazed at cultures that practiced human sacrifice.

Is there a difference?
